Artist's Comments

A design I created from a doodle in my notebook and a sort of random idea.

Turning the Ohm Symbol into a stylized 'act of nature' - I'd wanted to make a Koi design for a while, I know there are a lot out there but I really wanted to try and make a unique take on it, I kept thinking about the Koi and then thought maybe I should do an 'illuminated Ohm' design - somehow they got all mashed together in my head, or at least on my paper when the fish mixed with the top of the Ohm...after that it just clicked.

I have a few more ideas of 'natural' Ohm's I think I'm going to try and make but here is the first <3

I hope you all enjoy and if you like it, please give a shout out cause I'd really like to know! <3

You should do one for all the elements! *is in the middle of an Avatar marathon*

Superbly elegant design! This is a unique take on the koi; as you said in the description, they're a common design element, but you've individualized it beautifully here. I didn't immediately notice that the koi itself forms the upper part of the larger, decorative ohm symbol!

Fantastic work - I'd wear this t-shirt repeatedly for sure. If you don't mind my asking, what program did you use for it? The lines are so crisp and strong that Illustrator came to mind.

Photoshop Cs3 <3 But I keep hearing fantastic things about illustrator and may have to look into it :3

I'm thinking of submitting this over at threadless or Camesa, but I'm struggling a little with "Artist vs Dialup" while trying to submit.

I'm also trying to complete a 'Fire' Ohm as well to try and incorporate a whole 'set' (the three, this koi etc.))

Thank you -enormously- for the comment it's hugely appreciated!

Good ol' CS3! Illustrator is a wonderful program once you get used to its interface; after learning its hotkeys, work flows smoothly. Vector art is fascinating, and this certainly appeared to be vector when I first saw it!

Ah dang, I know what you're feeling with the whole Artist vs. Dialup ordeal. My family had dialup for years, and we were constantly running into connection failures and whatnot. But if you can get the design through, I think this would be a fantastic t-shirt choice at Threadless.

A set would be lovely! And you're very welcome. <3
